Normal wear and tear, damage from improper use, and user modifications are not covered. But if it broke because it wasn't built right, we own that.

Care Guides
Tents
Always air out your tent before long-term storage — never pack it wet. Apply seam sealer annually to maintain waterproofing. Store loosely in a large cotton sack, not compressed in its stuff sack for extended periods. Clean with a soft sponge and mild soap; never machine wash.
Sleeping Bags
Wash down bags with Nikwax Down Wash in a front-loading washer on gentle cycle. Tumble dry low with tennis balls to restore loft. Store uncompressed in a large mesh storage sack — compressing down permanently damages insulation. Synthetic bags can be machine washed cold and line dried.
Waterproof Jackets
DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating diminishes over time. Wash with Nikwax Tech Wash to restore performance. Tumble dry low or apply a warm iron over a damp cloth to reactivate the DWR. When water no longer beads off the fabric, apply Nikwax TX.Direct spray-on treatment.
Hiking Boots
Brush off mud after each use. Condition leather uppers monthly. Treat waterproof membranes with Nikwax Footwear Proof. Remove insoles to dry overnight after wet days. Replace laces and insoles annually on heavily used boots — they wear out faster than the boot itself.
